"How Old Would You Be..."

"How old would you be if you didn't how old you were?", Satchel Paige.

What an awesome thought for a Monday morning!  It is an excellent reminder to me that age is a number and that we cannot allow labels to define us.  I still feel vibrant and young, with some years of life lessons thrown in, but with the optimism and hope of so many things still ahead of me.  Satisfied with so much, settled in my life, and yet still moving forward.

  1. So many thoughts spring to mind…I'm going with, "You either get old or you die." Right now, I am enjoying the ride too much, to let age get in the way. Finally, "You're only as old as you feel."

  2. I love that! I have never felt my age. Ever. I don't know if that's a good thing or not, but as I get older, I am really grateful that I don't think of myself as a number . . . as as me!

  3. How old would I be? Not 37, that's for sure! I feel younger, but without the insecurities I actually had when I was young. For one thing, I know who I am now and that knowledge has given me roots. I do love being this age, though. I've lived, and learned, and am super satisfied with how I've turned out!

  4. I always feel about 16 and usually act like it, so the good thing is, people usually think I'm much younger. The bad thing is that I think I'm a little immature... but I'll take it! Also, I think that every day I'm on the right side of the grass is a good day!

  5. This is a quote I think about often and the answer varies daily. What a great thing to be able to say "I still feel vibrant and young"!

  6. For various reasons, until I was about 30, I always felt older than I was. My teen years necessitated maturity on my part. My 20's were years of tremendous experimentation and growth. I think I added ten extra years to my life in that decade and I always did feel older than other people in their 20's. But then, an odd twist occurred and my 30's and 40's found me looking and feeling much younger than the years dictated. Nowadays, there are situations in which I still feel - REALLY feel - as if I am 25 again. And, then there are other situations in which I know and feel my own age. Mostly, I don't like those times.....

  7. I don't know that I have a specific age that I feel as opposed to the one that I am. I do remember my grandmother, though, as she inched ever further into her seventies, remarking fairly regularly that in her head she still felt 26. I always thought that was an amusingly specific number (and it happened to be her age when her first and only child (my dad) was born).
